Yet another year of holidays

Hi all,

Here we find ourselves rapidly approaching holiday season again and once again, we'd like to thank you for your continued support of our store.

In early December, though it's hard to believe, we will be celebrating our 10th year in business. In an economy that is particularly tough on small businesses, all of you have helped us stay open and vital - for this we are eternally grateful.

We promise to continue to learn so that we can keep you informed and your pets healthy.

We promise to do our best to keep the finest foods, treats, supplements, and remedies in the store.

We also promise to figure out some fun things to do for our 10th anniversary month and we will let you kids know about that stuff as well.

Thanks again for continuing to come to The Pet Cabaret and other small local businesses. Your trust and support fill our hearts with joy.

Pre Season Coat Sale

It's that time of the year kids - a slight nip in the morning air. Pups shiver during their walks. Maybe time to think about a sweater or coat for your pal.

Take advantage of our urge to organize and drop by the store for our pre-season coat sale.

We have a good, but limited selection, of some of last season's sweaters and coats. They are all first quality. We just want to make room for some new stuff.

They are all 30% off while they last.

The Pet Cabaret - a Decade Later

You know, it's been almost ten years since we first opened The Pet Cabaret. Some of you may remember the tiny store on Washington Street that we crammed full of pet food and supplies.

The first day we opened, in December of 2003, the city was experiencing a significant snowfall. People stayed home from work and toddled onto the snowy streets. Some even stumbled into our store. We maybe did $200 - $300 worth of business that first day - just enough to keep us coming back. Actually, we had to keep coming back because there were no other options for us. We had put everything on the line to open the store.

We made a promise to ourselves in those early days to only sell products that we were comfortable with and that we would use on our own dogs and cats. I am sure that Harvard Business School would not have agreed with our business model then or now.

But it seems enough people did agree. Enough people agreed so that we eventually had to move to a larger storefront "up the street" on Washington Street. We put in a self serve dog wash and some dog training too. Everyone seemed to like that. Thankfully, you kids just keep coming in.

During the years that we have been open we have tried to constantly learn about foods and remedies and to keep up to date on new products and techniques. The more we learn the more convinced we are that a careful combination of good food, good veterinary care, good training, and good ole' fashioned love are what keeps a pet healthy and a family happy.

We realize the important and special place that animals occupy in the lives of many people and we take very seriously our promise to help feed them well and keep them healthy in the gentlest way possible. We thank you for your business over the last decade, but even more importantly, we thank you for the trust you've placed in us. We feel truly honored and blessed.

OK, so you're taking a walk on a lovely day and your dog is off leash. He goes out of sight and you call him to come back to you. You wait. You call him again. And wait. You call louder this time and the veins in your neck begin to bulge. The faint smell of skunk wafts in the air....you get the picture. Sign up for this 3 session clinic. Get poochie back next time and every time thereafter.
